Turība University Business incubator

To support innovative business ideas and the creation of new companies, Turība University has created a grant (investment) program for students, investing up to 15 000 euros in the implementation of a business idea and the establishment of a joint venture.

“It is very important that we, who teach young people how to become successful entrepreneurs in various sectors, also set an example ourselves and, together with determined young people, engage in joint entrepreneurship, taking on joint challenges and risks. This is our contribution as a university to a better future for Latvia, because entrepreneurs are the ones who make a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the country,” emphasizes Imants Bergs, Chairman of the Board of Turība University.

According to the criteria of the Board of Turība Grant program, successfully studying young people at Turība University (aged 19 to 25) will have the opportunity to become Grant recipients and apply for investment. This will be available to those who either win the university’s business idea hackathon “To Be” or demonstrate strong results in the pre-incubation and/or incubation programs run by the Business Incubator. The university will also provide these young people with a budget place or a 100% discount on tuition fees.

In order to receive financial support for a business idea, Grant scholarship holders will have to submit a business plan draft to the Turība Board for the start of a joint venture between the university and the scholarship holders. If the business plan is approved, the new joint venture will have to be established within three months of the decision to receive the Grant, in which Turība University will invest up to 15 000 euros.

The Entrepreneurship School is an educational initiative organized by the Turība University, intended for high school students who want to take their first steps in entrepreneurship. High schools and gymnasiums from all over Latvia are participating in the project. This program provides an opportunity not only to understand how a company is created, but also to acquire valuable skills, attitudes and contacts for the future.

Classes are held once a month remotely, and are led by practicing entrepreneurs, lecturers and industry professionals who share both their experience and specific tools - from a business idea to its implementation. The program includes topics such as financial literacy, business basics, marketing solutions, media and personal branding, sustainability, collaboration and leadership. Each class is supplemented by tasks that help strengthen skills in real life, and at the end - an interactive workshop and test.

This is a program that helps you identify your potential and encourages you to take action, regardless of whether you want to make your own company or become an entrepreneurial person in your profession.
